Next installment here to tide you over until the beautiful people who scanlate get around to it! Again, there is a link to RAW downloads here. Page numbers correspond to the tankubon pages, not to the file numbers in the RAW file (which I believe are off by +3).

Thanks for the translation, smaller.

Why not come by the IRC and see about joining the group?

Yeah, thanks again for the chapter, Smaller!

Ooh...IRC?
People still use that?

Sounds like an offer smaller! I trust this group will make the new volumes available for direct download once they are done. I'd hate to think these would only be available on an IRC channel  Undecided

Yep.

IRC is the preferred method of most scanlation groups. Chapters and volumes are usually released there by groups first and then put on sites and forums, and then spread to the rest of the 'net.

There's huge archives for translated manga; you can find pretty much whatever manga you're looking that's been scanlated on high speed bots easily, as well as archives for raw manga.

It's also of course an excellent way to communicate with other people and groups, and to co-ordinate things.

Thank you for the kind words!

Balthazar has invited me to the Yahoo group, and I've already uploaded my work so far there, and to the ftp server. Smiley

I've never used IRC, though I guess I could give it a whirl if you think I should.

I'm not so sure that I agree that the majority of scanlation groups release their stuff through IRC first.
Most of the places that I frequent just put up a plain old mediafire or megaupload link for ddl.
I have to say that in my experience if using IRC, I found it to be a place just full of elitist pricks that make it hard for new people to feel comfortable. On top of that, it's a pain the ass to download from IRC.

Don't get me wrong though, you guys have your system and it obviously works for you and I respect that but there are also many people (including ex-fansubbers like myself) that feels it's time to move on from the IRC era....

Ask them Wink. Head on over to MangaUpdates and then go to a group and visit their channel.

It's hardly elitist Grin. It takes a couple of minutes at best to work out how to connect and download. But for a lot of people that seems to be too much trouble for some reason.
Even though there's literally hundreds of tutorials out there.

XDCC bots have made life very simple in terms of downloading from IRC, and like I said before there's pretty much every scanlated manga you could possibly want, ready to download (and easily), in one place at pleasing fast speeds. And without having to scour the whole 'net. The channel's called #lurk on IRCHighway.
If you need help just PM me.

Color me amazed. This IRC business really beats trying to find ancient, often dead, torrents from TokyoTosho, which is what I always did before.

I don't understand. If you can translate from the original to English, why didn't you set them to the panels yourself?

No need. out of the 5 groups I visit only one has an IRC channel and they use it only for chat. They don't release their stuff there.

And just to clarify, I never suggested that IRC was in itself elitist, I was merely mentioning that In my experience, i found that the people that tended to lurk on the chatrooms for various groups, tended to be a tad snobbish.
Sorry if I wasn't clear.
I do know how to use IRC, I just choose not to because it's a pain and it can make your IP too visible if your not careful which is risky because downloading is now illegal in my country and they are clamping down on it hard...

Though I have already read the story through to the end, I have enjoyed reading it thus far in English because its been good for my language studies. I guess I will wait for the English scans to go up on an online reader someday.

Oh, and Wyr3d, translating and typesetting are two totally different things.

Networks use hostmasking these days. If you're on a server that doesn't, don't use that one, or ask for a vhost.

Sorry to hear about downloading being stopped in your country, what country is that by the way? Maybe you could look into a VPN or something.

I don't understand. If you can translate from the original to English, why didn't you set them to the panels yourself?
A couple reasons.

First, I don't have much free time. I work full-time, and I'm still going to school. The few free hours I have when I get home are not enough to do the entire job of fully scanlating a chapter. It's obvious that scanlation groups are groups for a reason. Nobody who supports themselves would have time to do it all alone. 3x3 Eyes is a Seinen manga, meaning it's geared for an older audience that can read around the 2500 most common kanji. There are no furigana that I can just type into a dictionary if I don't know the word, and looking up kanji is time-consuming. Also is the fact that I've only had two years of Japanese, and so I spend a great deal of time confirming through grammar references that my interpretation of a sentence is accurate.

But most of all, I can't create a polished scanlation. My art skills are abysmal, and I am incapable of cleaning up sound effects or making an edited image look competent, much less as professional as the SazanQuest releases have been. You may note that in my first post here, in the Feedback forum, I offered to help proofread. I didn't offer to mess with images because that simply isn't in my skill set.

So I offer my translations because that is something I am capable of, and because I don't have time for more than that.

You're welcome. Smiley

Oh, I didn't mean any disrepect by my words, don't get me wrong. It was merely a question, as from what I can understand there's not that much more to this scanlating than setting the words in English, rather than the original.  And, while I'm aware that a lot of effert must go into making a perfect copy, it was not this I intended.

To my mind, any translation is better than none, correct? But I can understand your time is limmited, and belive me, you have my heartfelt thanks for all your work.  Although, I'm still a little puzzled by your insistance that your translations may not be so accurate. So long as the story is continued, the little nuances of the words don't matter so much.

What's important is, you translate the story as best you believe suits the authors intent - and that is a blessing for all of us who are perplexed at the mere site of kanji lol

Now, I won't go so far as to say I am so very adept at graphic design, but I am certainly no novie either. With your permission, then (as I would rather read in the format accustomed in any case) I would like to attempt the setting of your translations to the panels myself. I'm not saying my efforts will be spectacular, but they will certainly be passable - at least until the professions continue the story themselves.

That sias, then - if you have time, I have a question or two further to ask.
